Dr. MeShayle Lester
Strategic Advisor. Educator. Builder.
Three decades inside the rooms where leaders make decisions that outlast them. Consultations are reviewed personally before they are confirmed.
About Dr. MeShayle Lester
There comes a moment, and if you are building something you will recognize it, when you realize that everything you poured into someone else's dream was not wasted. It was training. It was preparation. And it was yours to take back.
Dr. MeShayle Lester built three organizations from that moment. Not with someone else's permission. She made a decision. The investment she had made in people, in organizations, and in broken systems was going to produce a return. One way or another.
There are times you sow into other people and help other people's dreams come true. And then there are times you have to realize, it's your time now.
The Work
She spent 20 years inside marketing technology and digital transformation at some of the world's largest global organizations, becoming the person called when a process was broken, a system was failing, or an inefficiency was costing an organization time and money it could not afford to lose. That career was built at the corporate level, spanning business intelligence, software engineering, data reporting, and digital transformation on accounts that shaped industries.
She spent 35 years alongside pastors and five-fold ministry leaders at some of the most influential ministries and congregations in the country as a strategic advisor who arrived with a diagnosis and left with a solution already in motion. As a licensed and ordained minister, Dr. Lester did not arrive as an outside consultant. She arrived as someone who understood the weight of the assignment from the inside, the politics of the pulpit, the pressure of the platform, and the cost of leading people through seasons they did not choose.
She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Cornerstone Christian University, bringing her professional experience and strategic leadership expertise into the academic formation of the next generation of leaders.
When she turned that same instinct toward corrections education, she did not wait for funding to start. She launched GOPARAPRO, built a correspondence program, and reached 1,410 correctional facilities across 49 states in two years, without a grant, without institutional marketing, and without a large staff.
She founded Digging Wells Leadership Foundation on the conviction that spiritual formation for justice-impacted individuals is not a program. It is the Church doing what it was built to do.
Artificial Intelligence: Ethics, Policy, and Responsible Use
Dr. Lester holds multiple certifications in artificial intelligence consulting and brings to every engagement a working knowledge of AI ethics, policy, security, and privacy that goes far beyond tool proficiency.
She does not approach artificial intelligence as a trend. She approaches it as a governance challenge and a theological conversation. Her conviction is simple and non-negotiable: AI can never replace God's greatest gift. Man is not a machine. The Spirit speaks through flesh and blood, and no algorithm carries the weight of a calling, the authority of a testimony, or the breath of the Spirit that moves through a human voice.
"God anoints people, not algorithms." — Dr. Lester
That conviction shapes everything she builds. Organizations, institutions, ministries, and corrections education programs that adopt AI without a policy framework are not moving forward. They are creating liability. Dr. Lester works with leaders to build the intentional structures that responsible AI adoption requires, addressing ethical use, data privacy, security protocols, and the human accountability frameworks that ensure AI serves people rather than replacing the judgment that protects them.
Her advisory work in this area spans corporate and enterprise organizations, faith-based institutions, and corrections education programs, each of which faces a distinct set of ethical and policy considerations when introducing artificial intelligence into their operations. For ministry and church leaders in particular, she brings a theological framework to the conversation that secular consultants cannot offer, grounding AI policy not only in compliance and risk management but in the values and convictions that define how a faith-based organization is called to operate.
She believes the organizations and institutions that will use AI most responsibly are the ones that decide what they stand for before they decide what tools they will use. God anoints people, not algorithms. That conversation starts with leadership. And it starts before the first prompt is written.
The Programs
GOPARAPRO operates two flagship programs, each built on the same conviction: that the distance between who someone has been and who they are becoming is not a barrier. It is the curriculum.
The Transportation Business Operations Program is a multi-level 18-course curriculum covering the full business side of commercial transportation, designed for incarcerated learners preparing for reentry careers in one of the most accessible and financially viable industries available to returning citizens. Dr. Lester's credentials in this area are operational and generational, built from decades of hands-on advisory work inside active trucking operations, including guiding a formerly incarcerated entrepreneur whose business generated $250,000 in its first year of operation. The curriculum is trauma-informed and being aligned to WIOA workforce frameworks and Pell Grant eligibility pathways.
The PARfessionals Forensic Reentry Peer Recovery Support Specialist Training is the flagship program of GOPARAPRO and its largest active initiative. It trains incarcerated men and women to use their lived experience with substance abuse and mental health to enter the forensic reentry and behavioral health workforce as peer recovery support specialists. Lived experience is not just accepted in this field. It is required. GOPARAPRO holds a license to deliver this curriculum and provides graduates with guidance toward formal certification pathways.
The Books
Dr. Lester is the author, editor and publisher of an extensive body of work spanning books, curriculum, and ministry resources each carrying the same direct, uncompromising voice that has marked her ministry, her advisory work, and every room she has walked into for more than three decades. Three of her latest books include:
Surrogate Leadership is a faith-centered leadership guide that redefines what it means to lead, not from the spotlight, but from the middle. Using the metaphor of pregnancy and trimesters, the book reveals how leaders are shaped in hidden places long before they are recognized in public ones. Grounded in biblical principles, leadership theory, and lived experience, it walks readers through seasons of preparation, identity formation, emotional resilience, and spiritual maturity. At its core, Surrogate Leadership is a call to emerging leaders to embrace the process, honor the hidden seasons, and lead with integrity and spiritual authority, whether seen or unseen.
Defending His Name is a courtroom-inspired exploration of one of Scripture's most overlooked acts of courage. Drawing from Numbers 27, where the five daughters of Zelophehad stood before Moses, Israel's leaders, and God Himself to defend their father's legacy, Dr. Lester examines what happens when women refuse to let a name be erased. Through biblical insight, personal testimony, and practical application, the book explores legacy, fatherhood, forgiveness, and the kind of faith that speaks up when silence would be easier. It speaks directly to the reality of absentee fathers, reminding readers that even in a father's absence, his influence can be redeemed, his name remembered, and his legacy carried forward with honor for generations to come.
Church, It's Time to Try AI: Because the Marthas Want to Take a Seat Too is a practical guide for pastors and ministry leaders ready to harness artificial intelligence as a tool for Kingdom work without surrendering the irreplaceable gift of human presence, spiritual authority, and the anointed voice that no machine can replicate. Written for the faithful worker who has been stretched too thin for too long, this book makes the case that technology, when rightly harnessed, does not diminish worship. It creates more space for it.
